Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to become an integral part of our growing team in the Mid-Michigan area! You will have the opportunity to utilize your technical and professional expertise and experience to make a positive impact with our internal & external customers. You will be part of a highly-experienced team of consultants, solution architects, engineers and customer service team members that are dedicated to provide the best in technology solutions, services and support to a diverse set of customers throughout the Midwest.

Network Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design, Plan and Implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless networks, VPN & SD-WAN solutions and other data network solutions
  • Design, Plan and Implement storage solutions in both on-premise and cloud-based services
  • Design, Plan and Implement virtualization solutions for both on-premise and cloud-based
  • Design, Plan and Implement server solutions including hardware-based and cloud-based
  • Manage, maintain and support the above technology systems as well as provide tier 2 and tier 3 support for internal network engineers and IT support analysts
  • Troubleshoot and restores technical service and equipment problems by analyzing, identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms using experience and established processes and procedures
  • Functions, somewhat independently, under general direction of more senior Network Engineers, or Management
  • Provides technical advice, guidance and informal training to customers using hardware and software programs
  • Provides sales engineering assistance as needed for development of bids and quotes
  • Work in a team setting, sharing information and assisting others with technical assistance
  • Maintain continual communication with customers throughout the support experience
  • Collaborate with internal support teams and external vendors to achieve resolution of customer requests
  • Utilize a sophisticated ticket management system to enter and track incidents, document detailed and accurate troubleshooting steps and instructions, and communicate with the customers
  • Maintain an accurate schedule at all times


  • Minimum 5 Years post-educational Networking/Server experience
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse set of customers
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Solid understanding and experience with Operating Systems: Windows, VMware, Hyper-V, UNIX
  • Solid understanding and experience with Storage systems (SANs, NAS)
  • Solid understanding and experience with Server hardware solutions
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions: Azure, AWS
  • Experience with server and desktop applications: Exchange, Office365, Office, SQL etc.
  • Solid understanding and experience with networking solutions such as: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, wireless networking, etc.
  • Experience with a CRM or Ticketing system usage a plus
  • Familiarity with architectural specifications
  • Familiarity with researching communication networks
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
