IT Resource is Empowering Young Bankers and Building Lifelong Connections through the Michigan Traveling Circus
Step right up as we head under the big top and take a look at the Michigan Traveling Circus (MTC). This unique organization, founded in 1938 from the Michigan Bankers Association, brings together vendors and bankers to network, raise funds, and support the education of future bankers. Molly Reid, Business Development Executive at IT Resource, is a dedicated member of the program and generously volunteers her time to help make a difference.
At the heart of the MTC are five group meetings held across the state of Michigan. Molly, who has a passion for connecting people and creating opportunities, plays an integral role in organizing these gatherings. Through golf events, hole sponsorships, and member meetings, she helps raise vital funds for scholarships that directly benefit students.
Each year the MTC hosts the Annual George Harding Scholarship Golf Outing to raise awareness of scholarships and their continuing support of education in Michigan. Founded in 1984 by the MBA and Michigan Traveling Circus, the scholarships are awarded to college juniors or seniors and first-year graduate students majoring in finance or business studies in the state of Michigan. Since it began, the Harding Scholarship has provided $370,000 to Michigan Students.
For Molly, being part of the MTC is more than just attending meetings and events – it’s about investing in the future of young bankers and fostering their growth. However, her involvement over the past seven years has brought her countless personal benefits as well. Through the events she’s attended and the meaningful work she’s contributed, she has had the opportunity to connect with exceptional mentors, form lifelong friendships, and contribute to the continued education of aspiring business and finance professionals. Her dedication to the MTC’s mission has not only made a positive impact on others but has also enriched her own life as well.
