Women in Banking :: An Influential ConferenceIT Resource
In certain industries we tend to see a trend where roles are predominantly filled by men, despite the potential and skill set a woman could bring to the table. Technology and banking seem to fall within that category, and may not be traditional career paths for females even though they’re making solid contributions to the success of the organization.
As time goes on, we’re seeing significant efforts made in order to move the needle and welcome women on board within those sectors where they may not represent the majority. One such event is the Women in Banking Day conference, which is hosted annually by the Michigan Bankers Association. This year’s event takes place on May 18 in Lansing, MI. As long-time sponsors of this event, we look forward to the opportunity to learn from some of the most inspiring and insightful women in the banking industry. Each year the conference promises professional development, leadership insight, and an opportunity to rally around likeminded individuals and lift each other up.
Over the years we’ve gotten the opportunity to work with a number of financial institutions and have built a bit of a niche market for ourselves by getting to the core of what these businesses are all about. By attending this conference we’ve established relationships within the financial sector and in turn, have gained a greater understanding of the unique set of challenges they face when it comes to their IT needs.
Senior Account Executive, Molly Reid, has been with our team for over ten years. Her expertise in IT paired with her charismatic personality have allowed her to build solid relationships with numerous customers in the financial sector. Additionally, Molly attributes part of her success to the connections she’s made at the various Women in Banking conferences she’s attended.
IT Resource team members Bri Cavanaugh and Molly Reid attended the 2021 Michigan Bankers Association Women in Banking Day Conference.
“Working with and sponsoring events through the Michigan Bankers Association has been fulfilling in many ways,” explains Reid. “The Women in Banking conference in particular has allowed me the time to interact with amazing women and leaders in their areas of banking, discuss a variety of thought-provoking topics, grow stronger relationships and learn about diversity, change and growth opportunities within ourselves.”
As the 2022 conference draws nears, we once again look forward to meeting with and gaining insights from the many influential women in attendance. Through inspiring keynotes and unique networking opportunities we will once again walk away with new relationships, and a solid understanding of how we can continue to support financial institutions as their needs and goals change with the times.
