Unified Access Security with Cisco Duo
One product does it all – unified access – unified security. If you need to protect sensitive data at scale, Duo’s Unified Access Security (UAS) solution is a user-centric zero-trust security platform for all users, all devices and all applications.
We are excited to announce a new partnership with Duo Security, a cloud based Trusted Access provider based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Duo focuses on two-factor authentication, endpoint remediation and secure single sign-on tools. Their solutions are delivered through the cloud and help reduce cybersecurity breaches, compliance risk as well as improve organization agility and user experience. As part of Cisco, Duo solutions integrate into Cisco’s network which allows customers to easily and securely connect users to any application on any network device.
4 Security Components
Duo Security has four main components inside its Unified Access Security software – Two-Factor Authentication, Endpoint Visibility, Adaptive Authentication & Policy Enforcement, and Remote Access & Single Sign-On. These can be purchased as a package or a la carte based on their unique business needs, security and compliance requirements, and applications used.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Also known as multi-factor authentication (MFA), this solution verifies the identity of users before granting access to corporate applications. Duo offers a wide variety of authentication methods including the Duo Mobile app, Universal 2nd Factor (U2F), security keys and tokens, one-time passcodes, and SMS and phone call back. Their flexible options make authenticating easy and available for all types of users whether they are in the office or out in the field.
Endpoint Visibility
This service allows you to check that your users’ devices meet your security standards before granting them access. You can see, track and report on all end user devices from a single dashboard. You will gain insight into user behavior as well as risky devices. Take control of your BYOD environment and safeguard against potentially comprised endpoints.
Adaptive Authentication & Policy Enforcement
This allows you to set policies to grant or block access attempts by identity or device. These policies can be based on contextual factors such as user location, network address ranges, biometrics, and more. This allows organizations to quickly and easily determine who can access which applications based on the individual level or their specific roles and responsibilities. Access can also be restricted from any geographic location. For example, you could decide to block all access coming from the Russian Federation, North Korea, or any other country. The ability to see where users are attempting to authenticate will help prevent unauthorized access.
Remote Access & Single Sign-On (SSO)
This provides seamless and secure access to cloud and on-premise applications and servers. Users can securely access applications from anywhere, on any device, without a VPN. Duo’s remote access and single sign-on also integrates with remote access gateway and VPN providers including Oracle, Cisco, Citrix, Barracuda, and more.
There are over 14,000 customers across 100 countries that currently rely on Duo for their security solutions. Duo gives you the reigns to take control of your IT security. It allows you to get as granular as needed and is designed to mold to your specific business needs.
