TECH TIDBIT: Restoring Your HP Computer After a Crash or Infection

The HP_Recovery partition is a feature available on newer HP computers, intended to allow you to easily recover your system in the event it becomes unstable or infected with malware. The HP_Recovery partition contains system files that will restore the computer to its original factory condition. It will be necessary to backup any files you want to save prior to restoring the computer. To access the HP Recovery Manager, press and hold the F11 key during start up. While it is possible to remove the partition, we recommend leaving it in place or creating a set of recovery disks first. To learn more about this feature, contact us today at 616.837.6930.
