What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? Travel to space

What is the best part about working at IT Resource? The people and the teamwork - everyone is working towards customer satisfaction and a collective success.

How long have you worked at IT Resource? Since May, 2015

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? Take more pictures and save more money.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A professional golfer, or maybe just a good caddy.

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had that was not IT related? I used to build mini golf courses on cruise ships.

Tell us something your colleagues don't know about you. I spent 3 weeks building a golf green and bocce ball court for Jack Nicklaus. It was an awesome experience, especially the day I wore my U of M hat - he's an Ohio State man.

What do you do at IT Resource, and what certifications do you have: I provide customers with IT services from ranging server configuration and maintenance, to software license management, projects, and network management. Providing customers with end to end service to fulfill any IT needs they may have is what I do. My certifications include Network Engineer - MCP, Cisco Unified Computing Technology Support Specialist, Cisco Data Center Support for UC Specialist, WebEx Design and Implementation, and VMware VSP.

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? Build my dream home on the shores of Lake Michigan. 

Do you have any hidden talents?  I am pretty good at electrical and mechanical work. The repair of small engines and home projects of sorts come naturally to me. I love to work to improve my home and assist my family and friends on their projects.

What is the best part about working at ITR? Every day is an opportunity to learn about emerging trends and to apply those to new and existing customers.

How long have you worked at ITR? Since September, 2011

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? Add your gut feelings in to the decisions you make with logic. Your gut may be right.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I still would like to work for the US Forest Service in the Manistee National Forest or Yellowstone National Park as a park ranger, if money is no object. Can’t get enough of the natural beauty of either location.

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had that was not IT related? Fieldman/Truck Driver while in college for a local farm Co-Op. I drove all over Michigan and elsewhere in everything from pickup trucks to tractor trailers. I worked with farmers, and companies like Meijer, Spartan Stores, D&W, and others to make sure that the Michigan farm products (apples, peaches, etc.) were delivered and staged in the stores. 

Tell us something your colleagues don't know about you: I almost joined the US Parks Service but then found out how low the starting pay was for the job of Ranger. I chose wiser.

What is the best part about working at IT Resource? The wonderful team of people I work with.  I am always grateful for their support and willingness to do whatever they can to help everyone on the team succeed.

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? Life is to be lived, enjoy every moment!

What is the most interesting, non-IT related, job you’ve ever had? Substitute teaching. Each day was unique and children share the most interesting details of their everyday lives, usually much to the dismay of their parents.

What do you do at IT Resource? Do you have any special certifications? I work with clients as an additional support resource by providing a communication path for maintaining strong customer relations, while identifying current and future initiatives in supporting the client’s business network operational needs. I have both Cisco and Microsoft certifications.

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? I'd own a sporting goods & bait shop with a bar and grill, that had a charter fishing operation, all located on a picturesque river…. (Hey as long as I can’t fail I might as well make it a big dream.)

Do you have any hidden talents? Nothing huge..basically what you see is what you get. The rest is a surprise.

What is the best part about working at IT Resource?  There is a solid culture of willingness to lend a hand, answer a question when needed as well as a willingness to ensure that the customer is well taken care of.

How long have you worked at IT Resource? Since June, 2013

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? Buy Stock in Microsoft, Apple, and Dell. And keep that 1967 Ford Mustang.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I hope I never grow up... I would like to keep a bit of the kid in me.
But when I was a youngster I wanted to be a hockey player.

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had (not IT related)? Besides being a dad and a grandpa, I was in the military - helicopters; weapons; flight deck aircraft launch recovery crew.

What do you do at IT Resource, and do you have any special certifications: I support the sales and marketing operations in any way I can. I am gaining practical experience and knowledge of the business functions at IT Resource while learning valuable sales and marketing skills.

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? I would open my own coffee shop & roastery, but then I would probably drink most of my inventory

Do you have any hidden talents? Yes, but if I told you they wouldn’t be hidden

What is the best part about working at IT Resource? The people. Everyone is very friendly, funny, and easy to get along with.

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? The more you procrastinate, the more stressed you become

What do you want to be when you grow up? I am still trying to figure that one out.

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had that was not IT related? I worked at a lodge near the lakeshore and once had to take care of 18 children with 1 other woman while all the parents had a night on the town.

Tell us something your colleagues don't know about you. I love to learn about history, particularly American history.

What's the most interesting job you've ever had that was not IT related? Surveying land for new developments

What was the last book you read? The Gift of Church by Jim Samra

What's one thing you can't live without? Music is something that I certainly wouldn't want to live without.

If you could meet one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be? It would probably be someone who is dead, but honestly, there are so many interesting figures from history I would have to put a lot of time and consideration to who that would be.

What's your favorite movie of all time? Probably the Stars Wars Saga

What's the best place you've ever travelled to? St. Thomas Virgin Islands

What do you consider to be your greatest success or proudest moment in life so far? I’m proud of all my achievements. I think we should always have something new to strive for whether it's big or small. I always have a new mountain to climb. 

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up? A musician, be it play in a band, produce, session/studio guitarist… whatever. I just wanted to do something music related.

Tell us something your colleagues don't know about you: I have driven my BMW 120 mph down I-196 with the top down on a sunny day playing Danger Zone.

What's the most interesting job you've ever had that was not IT related? I've been an adjunct instructor at Grand Rapids Community College for the past 17 years

What was the last book you read? "When Bad Things Happen To Good People"

What's one thing you can't live without? Laughter and Hugs

If you could meet one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be? Mother Theresa - she was a pretty amazing human being. (It used to be Elton John)

What's your favorite movie of all time? I have so many but, "It’s a Wonderful Life" and "Gone With The Wind" are two of my favorites.

What's the best place you've ever travelled to? Toss up for different reasons between England (history and architecture), Jamaica (warmth & sun) & Hawaii (smells of the flowers & beauty)

What do you consider to be your greatest success in life so far? My children

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received? Do your best, keep trying & play fair (My Dad’s golden rules)

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up? Something to do with science and helping people… In a way, life is a science of sorts, and I have always tried to help people in every way that I could, so I feel that I've accomplished this in a roundabout way.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors, and numerous certifications including VMSP (Veeam Sales Professional), VMTSP (Veeam Technical Sales Professional), MPN (Microsoft MPN Competency for Azure) MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate), MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional), MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist), MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician), MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), Microsoft A+, and a Teachers Certification for the state of Michigan.

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? It’s always about the politics!

What do you want to be when you grow up? A mom

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had that was not IT related? I worked 3rd shift in a factory (in the summer) where they kept the doors open all night. Every night, when I got to work, I had to coat myself with bug spray in order to keep the mosquitos away.

Tell us something your colleagues don't know about you. That I used to be a cowgirl… seriously, I owned a horse, and still have the saddle and tack equipment in my garage. It's still a dream of mine to own a horse or two again.

What was the last book you read? Flowers in the Attic

What's one thing you can't live without? My dogs. I am their hero!

If you could meet one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be? Elvis, at about age 30’ish. He is utterly amazing!

What's your favorite movie of all time? I have several… The Bad Seed, Billie, Ice Castles, Ghost

What's the best place you've ever travelled to? I’ve been to Hawaii and Las Vegas, but since we starting going on cruises a couple of years ago… I just love the whole cruise experience.

Do you have any hidden talents? Yes, of course I do!

What do you consider to be your proudest moment in life so far? Since I was raised on welfare throughout childhood, earning my Bachelor’s Degree completely on my own is something I’m super proud of.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received? It's not advice I’ve received but things I live by … EVERY story has two sides! and Perception is NOT reality!

What do you do at IT Resource, and what certifications do you have:  I manage the direction of tools and procedures used to prepare quotes and procure/receive hardware & software licensing. I find new ways to improve internal processes to ensure our team has everything they need to flawlessly execute solutions for our customers. I have sales and technical pre-sales certifications in Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware products.

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? Open a restaurant 

Do you have any hidden talents? I enjoy preparing & serving creative cuisine.  Starting this summer, I will be learning how to tune and mod my car engine.

What is the best part about working at ITR? My co-workers: I am grateful to be working with a dynamic, hardworking, and fun group of people.

How long have you worked at ITR? I started in November of 2011.

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? No matter what, always make time for your personal hobbies and interests. Every day.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A world traveler – while I’ve had the pleasure of traveling extensively, there’s so much more to see.

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had that was not IT related? I worked triage in an emergency room for a summer. That’s how I knew I no longer wanted to continue my studies in the healthcare field. I have no shortage of stories from that job.

Tell us something your colleagues don't know about you. I am a huge Scrabble nerd! I also spent 7 years playing in various musical ensembles – music is a great language to learn.

What do you do at IT Resource, and what certifications do you have: I am the co-owner of the business and responsible for smooth day-to-day operations. I’m also a CCDA, Cisco Unity Design Specialist, former MCSE, and holder of several smaller Cisco certifications.

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? Skydiving

Do you have any hidden talents? I play a little guitar.... very little

What is the best part about working at ITR? The people

How long have you worked at ITR? Since its inception in November, 2000

If you knew then, what you know now, what piece of advice would you give yourself? Be more nimble, take more chances, and don’t be afraid to fail.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Relaxed :)

What is the most interesting job you’ve ever had that was not IT related? I worked in a finished products paper mill during college – it was so hot in there I lost 35 pounds in 3 weeks!

Tell us something your colleagues don't know about you: I really want to get back into snow skiing sometime soon – I used to do it 25 years ago but life and family took precedence. I’m hoping to be better at it this time around since the equipment is much better!
