Meet Our New Director of Sales & Marketing

Wednesday, July 05, 2017
Please join us in welcoming our new Director of Sales and Marketing, Matthew Sullivan. Matthew brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the areas of leadership, sales, and marketing due to his past experiences in a variety of industries including automotive and workforce development. He also owned his own leadership and management development company for several years and has been teaching leadership skills to middle school students for twelve years.

While leading and mentoring people fuels his professional side, it's music and sports that support Matthew's creative side. Since he can't actually play a lick of music he has spent his time volunteering at a local radio station for the past 13 years. He's also coached youth baseball for over ten years and his teams have brought home a few Little League District 9 championships and one state championship.

Despite having lived all over the country, including stints in Colorado, Idaho, and the Northeast, Matthew decided long ago that Michigan was the place he wanted to call home. He and his wife of 29 years have enjoyed raising their three children here and have recently become empty nesters.

"I’m really excited to be a part of the IT Resource team – and I’m humbled by the commitment and passion everyone at our company has for their profession and their customers," said Matthew. "I look at IT from the end-user’s perspective. Technology is supposed to make it easier for people to be productive, so when we push the “on” button we just want the technology to work. I feel like our team gets that idea and I'm looking forward to leaving my mark here."

Please help us welcome Matthew to the IT Resource team!

The Future of Banking + Technology :: Perry School of Banking

Monday, May 15, 2017
"Business drives technology towards the future and not vice versa!"

That was the message sent at this year's Perry School of Banking presentation by our Director of Technical Services, Andrew Smith. Andrew welcomed a classroom full of banking professionals and together they collaborated and explored a number of topics relating banking to the world of technology.

The Michigan Bankers Association is the force behind the Perry Schools of Banking, which they have designed to provide people with the specific skills needed to manage the functional areas of banking, as well as develop the ability to problem solve, work in teams and make decisions in a managerial setting.

While we work with customers in many different industries, banking and finance are two areas that we are especially versed in. We welcome questions from small, locally owned credit unions all the way up to large financial institutions. If you would like to see Andrew's full presentation, it is available for download by clicking here. If you have any questions on the best IT solutions for your business, give us a call at 616.837.6930.

Big Announcement :: We're Expanding

Thursday, February 02, 2017

We've got exciting things happening at IT Resource. After months of collaboration and consideration, the ink has dried and we're so pleased to welcome Suncoast Business Technologies to the IT Resource family of operations.

This opportunity came at the perfect time for us, as we were looking for key opportunities that would allow us to expand our services and reach new customers. The recent acquisition brings two new companies under the IT Resource umbrella. Suncoast Business Technologies is an award-winning Sarasota-based information technology company, providing Managed Services, VOIP and Structured Cabling. Ring Authority is their VOIP division.

This transaction creates an enhanced ability to help clients address their increasingly complex business technology needs while maintaining the personal touch that has been the foundation of the two companies.

We're looking forward to getting to know our new Florida-based customers and providing them with the same service, commitment, and expertise that our current customers have come to know and love. Please help us welcome the Suncoast crew aboard!

Happy Birthday IT Resource

Tuesday, November 01, 2016
It's hard to believe it's been 16 years since we opened our doors. We've been so fortunate to have grown IT Resource, worked with amazing customers and team members, and helped so many businesses with their technology needs. Above all, we want to thank each and every person who has trusted, cheered for, and supported us over the years. We wouldn't be here without each of you. Cheers to another 16 great years ahead!

Cars, Rock & Roll, and a Little Technology

Tuesday, August 16, 2016
This month marked the 26th annual Del Shannon Car show. Held in Coopersville, MI, Del Shannon's hometown, the show is a highlight of summer for many car enthusiasts. IT Resource was proud not only to be a sponsor but to once again provide volunteer services to ensure the show went smoothly. We assisted in the setup of a small wireless network and provided internet and database access to a series of iPads being used to register the cars in the show. This allowed for successful tracking and accounting, which is crucial, given there are upwards of 600 cars in the show each year.

Our team members, including IT specialists Greg Lundeberg and Leo Reap, deployed, set up, and configured a Meraki wireless solution for the show. Their services went above and beyond, including Greg being at the show at 4:00 am when the first cars started rolling in. Any time we can use our expertise and experience to help benefit our local community is time well spent.

The winner of the IT Resource trophy at last year's event

In spite of the morning's poor weather the group of volunteers did a great job moving cars through and getting them placed for judging in a timely manner. This is thanks in part to the technology measures that were put in place and to the car show’s effective planning. Hats off to everyone involved, including Greg. You all did a great job pulling everything together and the show was a huge success!

Carter's Kids Golf Event in Traverse City

Sunday, August 07, 2016
Gary and Gayla represented IT Resource well when they tee'd off at the 6th Annual Carter’s Kids Golf Event with Carter Oosterhouse. You might recognize Carter from TLC's Trading Spaces and multiple shows on HGTV and the DIY network.

Carter Oosterhouse is from Traverse City, MI so each year he and his wife, actress Amy Smart, return to his hometown to host this special event. We've been a long-time sponsor of the event because it's always so fun, but more importantly, it represents a great cause. All proceeds benefit Carter's Kids Playgrounds.

Carter’s Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and promoting awareness of fitness and self-esteem for America’s youth. Their purpose is to increase the activity level of kids by building and developing community parks and playgrounds in their neighborhoods. The kids then have the opportunity to take an active part in building up their community by using, sharing, and caring for these public spaces.

Thanks Carter, for creating these special places for kids in our communities. We're happy to participate in such a wonderful event.

Congrats to Our Riverbank Runners

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

The 2016 Fifth Third Riverbank Run is in the books and we're so proud of our two team members who participated.

Gayla Lutz, our Director of Business Management (pictured above), ran the 25k this year. Sr. Partner Leo Reap ran the 10k. Both did a fantastic job and we were excited to be able to cheer them on.

Check out our last run, which included a relay team we put together for the 2015 Grand Rapids Marathon.

Meet Our Director of Technical Services

Monday, January 11, 2016
We are thrilled to announce the addition of an integral member to our management team! Please welcome Andrew Smith, the new Director of Technical Services for IT Resource. Andrew is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our engineering and help desk teams. He also assists in strengthening the delivery of our engineering services, hardware and software. He is the point of contact for all technical resources and supports these team members by doing whatever it takes to get things done.

Andrew is originally from Indiana but spent most of his life living in Kentucky where he held a variety of positions in the technology field. He was most recently in charge of consolidating data centers and support for a large enterprise. Prior to that, he was in pharmaceutical research as a Global Director of IT quality. With an IT background in a wide variety of industries, we’re certain he will provide valuable insight to our own teams and customers.

Andrew is a man of many hobbies ranging from short story writing, blogging, professional photography and just tinkering around with cars, or anything broken for that matter. During his interview, he said he was impressed with our employee's passion and drive to do good work for our customers and this is what made him eager to join our team.

Please help us welcome Andrew to the IT Resource team. We're delighted he's on board!

Here’s to New Traditions

Thursday, December 03, 2015
This year we decided to switch things up. During the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, our office collected nonperishable food and household items for our local charity, Coopersville Cares. We were so pleased with the turnout and it’s really motivating to see many ITR staff and their families stepping up to the plate to donate a variety of items. We received many kitchen and household staples along with many Thanksgiving food favorites. It’s a busy time of year for many people but we think it’s important to take a moment out of your day to do something that supports your local community and give back to the people around you.

We’re also delighted to announce that IT Resource will be adopting a local Coopersville family for Christmas this year. Our employees are collectively raising money and in a couple weeks, that total will be matched by the owners of IT Resource. All of our donations will go towards the needs and wishes of each family member. We're helping a family who is right in our back yard by making sure they receive warm clothing, new toys and food items for the holiday season.
